Frequently asked
What if there are multiple people in the frame?
ViralMint picks the largest detected face per frame and tracks it. For two-person interviews, this means the camera follows whoever is biggest in the frame at any moment — which is usually whoever's actively speaking. For multi-person scenes where you want both visible, the desktop app's Smart Video pipeline supports manual subject selection.
What about videos with no faces (gameplay, screen recordings)?
When no face is detected for a frame, ViralMint falls back to the previous tracked position, then to center-crop. For pure gameplay or screen-record content, center-crop is usually what you want anyway — the action stays in the middle of the original frame, and the 9:16 window captures it cleanly.
Does the original video file get modified?
No. ViralMint writes the converted output to a new file and leaves your source untouched. You can delete or keep the source as you prefer.
Can I batch convert multiple videos?
Drop multiple files into the Tools page in sequence — each conversion is a separate job and they queue automatically. The Jobs page shows progress for all of them.
Is it really free?
Yes. The reframe tool runs entirely on your machine using FFmpeg + OpenCV — there's no cloud cost on our side, so the tool is free in the desktop app. Cloud-routed features (AI image, voice, music, video) are pay-per-action.
