Background Remover

Cut the subject out of an image and get a transparent PNG — computed on your own machine, so the picture is never uploaded anywhere.

Free and unlimited — no account, no watermark, and the file never leaves your browser. Big files and batch runs are faster in the desktop app.

Why ViralMint for this

01

The image never leaves your computer

Every popular background remover is a web service: you upload the picture, their server processes it, and you trust their retention policy. ViralMint runs the model locally, so the file stays on your disk and the tool keeps working with the network off.

02

No watermark and no resolution downgrade

Free web tiers routinely hand back a low-resolution preview and charge for the full-size file. The cut-out here comes back at the source image's exact dimensions, every time.

03

A 4 MB model, not a 200 MB download

The first run fetches a 4.4 MB U²-Net model once, and after that it's instant and offline. Nothing else is installed and no account is created.

How it works

  1. Open Remove Background

Launch the ViralMint desktop app, open Tools, and choose Remove Background.

  2. Add your image

Drop in a PNG, JPG, WEBP, BMP, TIFF or GIF, up to 25 MB.

  3. Run the cut-out

Click Remove background. The first run downloads a 4.4 MB model; after that it takes about a second.

  4. Download the transparent PNG

The result is always a PNG, since that is the common format that carries an alpha channel.

Frequently asked

Does it work offline?

Yes, after the first run. The model downloads once — 4.4 MB — and everything after that is computed locally with no network access at all.

Why is the output always a PNG?

Because PNG is the common image format that carries transparency. Saving the result as a JPEG would flatten the alpha channel and fill the background back in with white, throwing away the entire point of the job.

What kind of images work best?

Photos with one clear subject against a reasonably distinct background — people, products, pets. Busy scenes with no obvious focal point give a rougher edge, and ViralMint warns you when it could not find a clear subject rather than handing back a mostly-empty file.

Can I use the cut-out for a YouTube thumbnail?

That is one of the most common uses. Cut the subject out, then drop the transparent PNG over a background in ViralMint's AI Thumbnail tool.

Is there a limit on how many images I can do?

No. It runs on your own hardware, so there is no per-image credit and no daily quota — only how fast your CPU gets through them.
